Grand Rapids Baptist Bible College and Seminary

[edit]

Why does this current article omit mention of Grand Rapids Baptist Bible College and Seminary (through the 1990s?) and its denominational association with the conscientiously 'separationist' GARBC?[1]

"In 1972, the institution was approved by the State of Michigan as a degree-granting college of arts and sciences. Once known as Grand Rapids Baptist College and Seminary, the Cornerstone name was adopted in 1994."[2]

That would suggest that a Biblical but different name was preferred to distance itself from a school which may have operated without external accreditation other than its denominational affiliation. Is there a choice of conformity with denominational concerns which may have been (thought to be) compromised when seeking regional accreditation? Much more could be researched about the history of (or predecessor of) this newly-renamed and re-invented educational institution. MaynardClark (talk) 03:30, 14 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
