There is rather little known about the Cornelius machines and this page has drawn rather heavily from letters to Flight and comments provoked by them in Flight's Straight and Level. Jack Meaden is a well known contributor to aircraft writing, though.

The 59 ft span given in Aerofiles is wrong and is that of the XFG-1.TSRL (talk) 17:29, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Engine

[edit]

The engine quoted in the article doesn't fit. There were no Franklin 4 cyl engines of 130 hp available up to 1943. Some six cylinder ones were suitable candidates though. Another source quotes a Menasco Buccaneer at 165hp, which also seems problematic as it is just too powerful for a Menasco 4 and not powerful enough for a Menasco 6. So the mystery deepens. What seems certain is that neither of the quoted engines is likely to have been fitted.--Petebutt (talk) 20:50, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
