Rosolio
[edit]I doubt that the description of Rosolio is entirely correct. The term Rosolio seems to originate in a very early liqueur made from attar of rose (i.e. rose oil, used in perfumes), brandy and honey. This later developed into other mixtures, in which the attar of roses gradually diminished, and finally, the term seems to have been used as a synonym for liqueur in general. (See Bode: Wines of Italy, but also several early authors in liqueuer manufacture. The Wiki article on Maraschino seems to equate Maraschino with Rosolio, but I've added a talk entry which suggests this probably isn't entirely correct.)Athulin (talk) 19:59, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
