Translation of alla mente

[edit]

Alla mente is not correctly translated as "for the mind". The obvious reference is to the Banchieri's Contrappunto bestiale alla mente which translates as "improvised counterpoint" and refers to an established tradition of improvised musical performance.

I propose translating the title as "Improvised dialectical counterpoint".

Any reactions?

You can certainly refer to that but, unless you are absolutely certain that that is indeed the most accurate translation, I'd think twice about translating it too freely. Some people could argue that would probably constitute WP:OR. Maybe get rid of the translation and add a footnote? Ron Oliver (talk) 23:02, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
