Horace Henry Baxter
[edit]Did Horace Henry Baxter actually serve as a bank director? According to page 66 of America's Successful Men of Affairs, "General Baxter had large interest in... The Continental Bank of New York..." The book was published in 1895.
- Hall, Henry, ed. (1895). America's Successful Men of Affairs: An Encyclopedia of Contemporaneous Biography. Vol. 1. New York Tribune. p. 65-66 – via Internet Archive.
However, the German-American Bank did not change its name until 1918.
- Wilson, Ross J. (2016). New York and the First World War: Shaping an American City. Routledge. p. 186. ISBN 9781317087700 – via Google Books.
Thus, something is not correct and there must have been 2 different banks of the same name. -- 50.195.200.161 (talk) 03:41, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
