List of Members
[edit]A list of members would be very useful here. Mromson (talk) 01:59, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
- A list of 150 names in the article seems excessive and unwieldy. The Majlis website in External Links has a page where you can access the names and CVs of all members. I would think that is sufficient - and maybe that page should be directly linked. (At most, a separate list-class article could be created.) DeCausa (talk) 13:13, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
- Doesn't particularly matter if it's a separate page for the list of members, however I think quite important to the article to have a list of (at the very least) current members, even though there's a lot of them. Mromson (talk) 02:48, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
- It's unnecessary and excessive in the article in my opinion and will adversely affect the navigability/usability of the article. If it's not needed for United States Senate, House of Commons, National Assembly (France), Bundestag etc etc I don't really see why this would be uniquely different. Some of those articles have list-class sub-articles - I suggest that's the way to go if you really think it's necessary. DeCausa (talk) 08:37, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
- I'll make a separate list article for it when I get around to it. ;) Mromson (talk) 03:58, 14 September 2012 (UTC)

Spelling
[edit]Is it Majlis Ash-Shura or Majlis al Shura ? The top of the article mentions the first, but later the latter is mostly used. Once can probably figure it out, but it would be nicer if the article were consequent. effeietsanders 02:07, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
- It's really مجلس الشورى السعودي. The standard transliteration seems to be that al- (the) becomes ash- if the noun starts with "sh". So "ash-Shura" is (AFAIK) a better English transliteration. See Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Arabic#Definite_article for recommended styles here, and the links there for more explanations, written and edited (I hope) by people who really know Arabic, rather than me.
