I'll do this - notes in a day or so (you know the drill :)) Casliber (talk · contribs) 00:42, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Constance Parkin was born in 1906 in Miram, near Nhill in western Victoria. - I'd maybe add "village of Miram" (or whatever it is) just to make the sentence a wee bit more engaging. A tad abrupt as is....
Indeed. Tweaked.
she studied under André Lhote in Paris in 1932 - add descriptors for him.
Done.
The legacy section looks funny with that sentence in the beginning all on its lonesome - could be joined to next para (?)
Moved it into the previous section, so that "legacy" essentially begins once she's dead (though that isn't strictly true, given the references to retrospectives that occurred prior to her death). hamiltonstone (talk) 12:30, 18 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Overall, a nice read, and seems to present a balanced view of her ability and legacy. However, given she is a painter, it'd be great to get some discussion of some of her better known works (?) Got the one, how about some more. Also, anything which can illustrate would be good (like a free or fair use painting...)
The article had contained a picture of hers I had uploaded at Commons. Unfortunately, the consensus appears to be that Freedom of Panorama does not apply in Australia to paintings, drawings, prints and photographs, so despite it being a 1948 painting, it remains in copyright and has been deleted from Commons. This restriction is making it very hard to illustrate articles about contemporary artists, but I will try and develop have developed a fair use rationale about another painting: Girl in Red Tights. hamiltonstone (talk) 11:52, 18 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
PS: Cas, if you are any good with images, I'd be delighted if you could halve the resolution of the image at File:Girl in Red Tights (c.1948).jpg, otherwise i can see i'm going to be in more trouble. I don't seem to have software on my computer that will do this kind of thing... hamiltonstone (talk) 11:55, 18 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I just tried modifying and shrinking it...and it seems to be the same size?! Strange..purged the cache, smaller now....Casliber (talk · contribs) 13:06, 18 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Much appreciated. I have now made some additions to the article. See what you think. Incidentally, any comments on what you'd expect to be added before you would consider it at FAC would be greatly appreciated. hamiltonstone (talk) 12:47, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes the improvements are good - another painting...tick...some more info on who likes her...tick...be good to de-quote a few of those quotes..none of them stand out as earthshatteringly memorable enough to warrant remaining direct quotes....Casliber (talk · contribs) 13:13, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
