[edit]Would you be able to describe all different options on Microsoft Visual Studio application.
Ex: Application Type: Windows Application Console Application DLL Static Library
With Additional Options: Empty Project Export Symbols Precompiled Header
And option to add common header files for: ATL MFC
What are these options? how do they differ from each other and what is produced with a combination of them?

I added some console applications, but wasn't logged in. --Anthonybaldwin (talk) 18:06, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Xaric screen shot.jpg
[edit]The image Image:Xaric screen shot.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Stupid article
[edit]Can we just delete this.. no one uses xairc, it isn't even in the debian repository. There is no link to the software, it probably isn't actively maintained. And, it probably isn't noteworthy. EvanCarroll (talk) 19:09, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- I have reverted your edits. This is uncalled for. Console application has nothing to do with 'game consoles'. Tothwolf (talk) 21:43, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
3270
[edit]This article should probably mention the vast amount of IBM 3270 console applications (CICS/IMS) which are still used in enterprise business today. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.210.85.108 (talk) 00:25, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
Against merge with Text-based user interface
[edit]Text-based user interface is about a trend in or style of UI design, while Console application is about a type of application. It is possible to have a text-based user interface in an application that is not a console application (like many of the entries in Category:Hacking_video_games) and many console applications do not have a text-based user interface. Console app vs. terminal app
[edit]It seems the title of the article should be "Terminal application", not "Console application".
Because console is a special sort of terminal.

- Possibly, but it would help if a reliable source was given to support the suggestion. None of those links are reliable sources, any more than these talk page comments TEDickey (talk) 09:15, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
