This article has been around (and, thus, the topic notable) for 17+ years. All of the sudden -- today -- the topic is not notable. How did that happen? The back-story is this: I have been making some (perfectly valid) edits in the past 2 or 3 days to a series of 3 or 4 different articles. (All somewhat related.) Every time I make an edit, some editor (admin) "follows me around" to "inspect" and "supervise" my edit. Resulting in whatever action he/she deems necessary ... revert, edit, change, leave alone, whatever. This behavior is consistent, and not in dispute ... by a review of my logs / edits ... and the logs of that other editor. That editor is User:Randykitty. Now, after 15 years or 17 years (or so), three of the four articles that I have been improving are all up for deletion and are "non-notable". Including this page. What a coincidence! I wonder what the statistical odds of that happening are? I tried to "complain" at the Help Desk ... and I am sure you can guess where that will go. So, that's the back story. I have explained this unlikely coincidence at your rant at the helpdesk. You overestimate your importance in this matter. Your reasoning above is faulty. Please show me the guideline that says that because an article has been around for 17 years it must be notable? WP has millions of articles and only thousands of editors (and only 1000-odd active admins), so it's not surprising that articles may linger even thought they are on a non-notable topic. (Or otherwise problematic, just the other day I stumbled upon aan unacceptably promotional article that had been around for a decade, too). Anyway, you're free to remove the PROD tag, in which case I'll take this to AfD and we'll let the community decide. --Randykitty (talk) 18:15, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You call it a "rant" at the Help Desk. I'd call it a legitimate request for help. We both know that, because you are an Admin ... whatever you say will "go". I am not particularly stupid. I could tell that you'd be trouble, right from the get-go. Which is why I went to that Help Desk. I can read between the lines ... and know what you're up to. And, because you know that you are an Admin, you feel that you can "use" that "power" to your advantage. (I'd say "abuse".) I find it quite odd that some editor follows me all around ... micro-manages all of my edits ... and then decides that all of my articles of attention are all non-notable, after 15-17 years. Where did I even mention that I' an admin??? That has no bearing on editing and/or possible disagreements. I think you need to take a deep breath. I'm not thinking that all of "your" articles are all non-notable. Heck, I dug up evidence for notability for one of them and removed the notability tag.
