Talk:Congregation of Christian Brothers in New Zealand
Untitled
[edit]This Page Sorry whoever is editing this page - but it strikes me as intensely boring to just list a whole lot of Brothers' names and give what school they taught at.
Surely it is important to name the Brothers who are notable - for example the wonderful late Br Gillies. But why list every Brother that ever taught in any Christian Brothers School in New Zealand? Kiddo54 (talk) 08:12, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- Well, the title suggests it's only notable Brothers that have been included, though it's possible people have different ideas of what's "notable" (though whether it is "boring" or not is not a valid criterion!).
- I don't think this could be *every* NZ brother, could it? For my part, I'm rapt to see Br Don Murray on the list, the only NZ brother I've ever met, but an absolute larrikin and gentleman! But that's just my bias speaking...I think it'll be up to someone else to justify whether he or is fellow brothers are notable enough for inclusion. Cheers, Rob Lindsey (talk) 11:50, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
You are right Rob - maybe it is not every brother - maybe it is just someone's idea of the brothers that are notable. I totally agree about Br Don Murray - certainly worth a mention. My only point is that I'd rather see someone give some really good information on a few (possibly about 20) Brothers rather than just a whole list of names. I mean anyone can just make a list. If every family in the world listed every member of their family then Wikipedia would sure soon be clogged. Just mentioning that Brother X Y existed is hardly encyclopedic even if it could be called diligent or finicky! Kiddo54 (talk) 08:43, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Perhaps we should be patient and see whats coming. Is it not obviously a work in process? Rick570 21:10, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
