In glass physics the term configurational entropy usually describe the part of entropy that doesn't come from phonons. In other words you can calculate a phonon entropy (or vibrational entropy) from the phonon spectrum, and subtract it from the total entropy to get the configuratinal entropy.

I think that my definition is more consistent with polymer physics than the one presented in the article, and at least the wikipeda-page about the Kauzmann paradox needs my definition to explain the paradox properly. I don't have access to the references, but I would be grateful if someone could doublecheck that the article is right. user:nielsle feb 3 2008
