Should political party be listed? The Confederates did not have parties. At most these parties are their pre-secession parties. Emperor001 (talk) 22:58, 12 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
While there may not have been any party warfare in the Confederacy, that doesn't mean that the politicians left their pre-war parties. If you go to the Wikipedia articles for all of the men listed here, they all say that they were part of the Democratic Party during the war. Now, it's another issue on whether or not they should be listed here, as the Confederacy was almost completely affiliated with the Democrats, so it may be considered pointless to list their parties. However, my rule generally is that if information gives people reading the article a more complete picture of the subject and doesn't make the article less effective, then it should be left in. 2001:48F8:7052:A99:448D:8BF5:2BD2:8913 (talk) 00:50, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
