Isn't it better to say "Condoleezza Rice's tenure as Secretary of State" in American English? Mikebar (talk) 12:40, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bringing democracy to Pakistan

[edit]

"Condoleezza Rice played an important role in bringing democracy to Pakistan. When President Pervez Musharaff imposed a state of emergency in November 2007, it was rumored that she called General Musharaff and asked him not to impose a state of emergency. For the time being the General listened to the advice. However, on November 3, 2007 General Musharaff imposed a state of emergency despite opposition from Condoleezza Rice."

I can't tell if this passage is the result of linguistic confusion, or a conscious effort to make Ms Rice look like an idiot.Tsuguya (talk) 03:54, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Iraq Stabilization Group

[edit]

Article says: “An NSC spokesman said the Stabilization Group members ‘still meet regularly’.” (Jojhutton - Would once a year be considered "regularly"?)

BTW - when was the last time the media mentioned the Iraq Stabilization Group?--tuco_bad 13:38, 30 July 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cgersten (talkcontribs)

Ahmadinejad quote

[edit]

From the current article: In October 2005, Ahmadinejad stated that "Israel must be wiped off the map,"[48]

According to the wiki article on Ahmadinejad, he did not state this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahmoud_Ahmadinejad_and_Israel#Translation_controversy

Perhaps it's better to put: "In October 2005, when it was claimed that Ahmadinejad stated..." or something of that sort. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.244.175.65 (talk) 00:47, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
