Seems out of date? Surely LED screens are the most common in use now days? Bill W102102 (talk) 06:26, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

OLED is not in common use.  — Glenwing (talk) 06:44, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Visual display unit vs. computer monitor

[edit]

Visual display unit redirects here; this was done around 2009, when CRT monitors were still in somewhat common use. There was perhaps some confusion with the very similar term Video display unit (that latter term, which unlike the former, to me implies only raster displays but not vector displays) and the parent of both, Electronic visual display. There are analog and digital versions of each, of course.

Are there other uses (current and/or historical) of that term (e.g. for radar display screens connected pre-computer analog RADAR systems) that would justify either (at least a stub) article or a disambiguation page at VDU / Visual display unit?

(FYI, Talk:Visual display unit redirects here, to Talk:Computer monitor; See also: Talk:Video display unit and Talk:Electronic visual display)
