While I'm not going to necessarily say that the topic should not be on Wikipedia I think at the moment the article reads as an essay about the issue with the author having a clear (understandable) point of view and if we DO want it on here we need to come up with a way to do better on that end. Saying that the Alberta Eugenics program was "Damaging" is not really neutral. If you look at it from the perspective of people of the time, the program would not have been seen as such.174.7.95.138 (talk)
"It is unlikely they will be awarded any settlements based on stigmatization, but they may win suits based on involuntary sterilization." is speculation on a legal outcome legal outcomes. Furthermore, the third paragraph of the History section concerning ideology is filled with scare quotes and distinct perspective. While I agree with this perspective personally, efforts should be made to tone down the language and more objectively reflect facts, rather than subjective analysis. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 23.246.91.2 (talk) 18:33, 15 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Just a short placeholder added near the top of the article: much more could be said on this, and, I think, anyone researching the subject as a whole would be horrified to find that the policies were applied to indigenous populations with devastating effects. In terms of sources that are instantly available online, the easiest one to get at is: http://canadiangenocide.nativeweb.org/genocide.pdf
No, it isn't a perfect source, but it will be enough to inspire some of you to track down peer-reviewed articles and hardbound books (I hope). For first person accounts and various quotations on compulsory sterilization as applied to the indigenous people of Canada you can rapidly glance at p. 43-48 onward of the book just linked to.

I added this page to my watchlist because it's rather small and needed expansion. And I agree that this is one area that this article needs to be expand on. However, I have temporarily removed it. The site is kind of an advocacy site, and we should prefer more scholarly sources. Those can probably be found. You can ask for assistance in the Wikiproject Canada for more help in finding sources. --Harizotoh9 (talk) 06:30, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Adding wikiprojects, and requesting help from them can also be a strategy. I added (see above) the Wikiproject History and Wikiproject Discrimination. Can you think of any others thank might be useful? --Harizotoh9 (talk) 06:33, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This page needs references. It is clearly lacking sourcing and needs to have evidence to support the claims made. I will come back to it if I can but for not I will make a note of it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RubberBallMorality (talk • contribs) 04:13, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
