Fair use rationale for Image:Otisreddingdictionary.jpg
[edit]Image:Otisreddingdictionary.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:37, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

I will be reviewing this article. Bruce Campbell (talk) 08:10, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
Lead
- "The successful Otis Blue and the following performance at Whisky a Go Go led to rising fame across the United States." -> "The successful Otis Blue and the following performance at Whisky a Go Go led to his rising fame across the United States."
- Critic Jon Landau called it "The finest record ever to come out of Memphis and certainly the best example of modern soul ever recorded." -> probably best to move to the reception section. In the lead, just mention that the album received highly positive reviews or something.
Recording
- "Parts of the song were later mixed in the Grammy Award-winning "Otis" by hip-hop artists Jay-Z and Kanye West." -> even though I know this is true, reference this sentence.
Track listing
- The reference for Tracklisting links to the credits section of Allmusic when it should just link to the Overview section, because the tracklisting is actually placed there.
- Instead of just linking directly to Allmusic, you should reference it. Like for example, "Tracklisting adapted from Allmusic" and then just use reference 7 to reference it.
Personnel
- Again, instead of linking directly to Allmusic, reference it. At the top of the section you should put "Credits for Complete & Unbelievable: The Otis Redding Dictionary of Soul adapted from Allmusic" instead.
Charts
- Same thing again, reference instead of directly linking.
- Why?--Kürbis (✔) 16:23, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
References
- Wikilink Allmusic and Rovi Corporation on reference 7.
- Wikilink Rolling Stone on reference 12, add publisher which is Jann Wenner.
- On reference 14, fix publisher and and work.
- Separate the linked references and the book references. Take Otis Blue: Otis Redding Sings Soul for example, note how the references are done.
Overall, good work. If these corrections can be made the article can be passed. Bruce Campbell (talk) 19:56, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
- Done all, except I wrote "Wenner Media" instead of the person, who is I think not the only publisher. Thanks for your comments. Regards.--Kürbis (✔) 16:23, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
