1968

[edit]

The cause of the 1968 law was the influx of Asians from Kenya, starting in the Feb. of 1968. The Kenyan African legislation was making it difficult to stay in Africa. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.13.212.102 (talk) 16:22, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Remove reference to Canada

[edit]

I have removed the following statement:

"Canada was not included in the Act as the Canadian Citizenship Act 1946 ended British nationality and create a distinctly Canadian citizenship."

The text of the Act, which contains no mention of Canada, does not support this statement. All non-UK-connected Commonwealth citizens were treated the same, and Canadian citizens were regarded in the UK as Commonwealth citizens (as they still are). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.31.112.212 (talk) 03:32, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

methods

[edit]

What is meant by "methods that did not involve them having immigration visas"? 128.237.82.10 (talk) 15:06, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2010

[edit]

"The Act amended the Commonwealth Immigrants Act 1962, further reducing rights of citizens of the Commonwealth of Nations countries (as of 2010, comprising approximately 1.9 billion people) to migrate to the UK." -- What's the relevance of the 2010 figure? Perhaps the 1962 figure would be more to the point. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.233.201.171 (talk) 21:43, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
