Moved from article

I think this is very inaccurate. I am a student at CGS and i dont have problems with work load or having friends at my own school – 71.62.236.206 03:21, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well personally I didn't have those problems either, but I know people who did... anyway it probably doesn't even belong in the article but whatever. ugen64 03:35, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism Section

[edit]

Personally, I feel that the current wording "Many fear even the most responsible of students are incapable of balancing both the workload of CGS and extracurricular activities." is overly negative for the article, unless we can see a citation for the "many". I would prefer something like this: "Sometimes raised as a concern is the workload that the program requires. Responsible students are usually able to handle the workload, but some find it too much to balance school work and extracurricular activities." Any thoughts on this? Cgsguy2 14:22, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How is it worded in the source it was taken from? If there is no reliable source, then it is original research and can be removed from the article. Burlywood 19:41, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This was obviously a case of weasel words, probably inserted by someone who had an ax to grind. It was an unsourced claim, as well--which isn't to imply that it's easy to find online "sources" on CGS. (Just to avoid any accusation of bias, I'm a CGS alum (class of '05), and I can verify that, for some students, this was a particularly acute problem. There's a reason, though, that standards exist to prevent this sort of material from ending up on Wikipedia.) Also, I was surprised that some other, more unique criticisms of CGS went unmentioned. The program has been pilloried for years as a waste of state funding, and I'm sure that some of the residue of that debate has ended up online in a form that can be cited.

While CGS is pretty obscure, we've still got a lot of people in it, and a different information cite we can take from. There's no reason this was left in the state it was lol. Thecatthatplaysgames (talk) 18:01, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
