Request for undeletion

[edit]

I requested the page and will work on it to make it better. My interest in this page came about while looking at Template:Unix_commands as a better alternative to 'which'. I hope to get some help so that this article isn't in danger of being deleted again. I know it needs some work. Here's what I said to get it undeleted: The command named "command" is a POSIX required instruction of the form "command -v <target>". This is the only standards compliant way to find the path of an executable command. Finding it's notability via media coverage is difficult due to the generic word "command" with overloaded meaning as specified but this particular variant is vitally important to shell scripting per The Open Group that maintains POSIX. command I can't find the discussion related to the 2016-09-08T19:07:16 expired PROD. While not a tertiary source, this answer gives a good history with related alternatives. Grantbow (talk) 01:27, 25 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
