[edit]I am pretty sure that at least the last part of the music played while the people from Ogdenville are leaving (When they enter Springfield) is taken from the Finlandia Hymn by finnish composor Jean Sibelius. Should this be mentioned? Or am i maybe wrong? Classical music is not my strongest field, but being from Finland, i could recognize that piece in my sleep. Atza (talk) 20:48, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- The article already mentions that extracts from Aase's Death from Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt Suites are played (it's on YouTube[1]). --82.171.70.54 (talk) 22:50, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- Atza is correct. The ending is an excerpt of Finlandia starting at measure 54 with the string's four acceding notes to measure 57. I have played this exact excerpt many times before. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Natemonster (talk • contribs) 21:02, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
First word
[edit]This article mentions that Maggie says her first word, but didnt Maggie say "sequel" in the end credits of Simpsons "The Movie"? Jahngunnar (talk) 21:59, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- Maggie has spoken several times over the past twenty years, including in the episode immediately preceding this one; see Maggie Simpson. DES (talk) 23:44, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
Opening credits
[edit]I added a section on the opening credits. That is Father Knows Best, correct? Can anyone name the setting preceding it? I don't know enough about The Honeymooners to say for sure. Darkfrog24 (talk) 23:40, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Balloon bit
[edit]Aside from the balloon bit being a reference to the Larry Walters balloons+lawn chair flight, there was a house on balloons flying by in the background when Lenny and Carl are up. Remind anyone of any recent animated movies? (91.153.238.155 (talk) 00:40, 14 June 2009 (UTC))
Yep! The page used to have the Up reference noted, but for some reason, it's gone. Any reason why? --Joshua H-Star-R (talk) 00:08, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- I think its worth mentioning, not becuase its trivial, but it was the third Pixar related joke of the season. First being the Wall-E joke, the second the ratatouille joke and then this. I think its notable and there would likely be a source somewhere making this connection.Ottawa4ever (talk) 14:57, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Closing credits
[edit]Anybody recognize the one minute of music played from the end of the episode through the closing credits? --June w (talk) 07:51, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
- It is "hopparen (the jumper) chateau neuf" youtube User:Metziker (talk) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.91.109.191 (talk) 17:00, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
Air date
[edit]This episode was aired 17. of May, the national day of Norway. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daniel337 (talk • contribs) 23:29, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- If I'm not too busy I'll try to find a reliable source for it so that we can add it to the article. TheLeftorium 07:55, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- Not that difficult to find a reliable source for this - it's right in the WP article on the Norwegian Constitution Day. Added a reference to the article --afromme (talk) 19:09, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Repackaging?
[edit]Did Krusty mention something about repackaging defective home pregnancy test thingys as coffee-mug stirrers and sending them to the Philippines?--Dan2paul (talk) 14:44, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
- [Krusty groans] "Okay...repackage them as coffee stirrers and sell them in the Philippines..."
- The quote is about 2:20 into the episode, after his advisor tells him that the pregnancy test gives "20% false 'hay hays'"
- Redterror117 (talk) 05:21, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
Deserting of Ogdenville
[edit]Note, that the song played in the scene is a combination of peaces from Karelia Suite and Finlandia. Both composed by finnish composer Jean Sibelius. --Maikkeliii (talk) 21:39, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
Arizona's Illegal Immigration Law
[edit]Does anyone besides me notice when they build the border fence, it's similar to a certain border fence in Arizona between Arizona and Mexico? (hint, hint.) Also the Star-Spangled Goofballs seem to be a direct reference to the Minutemen vigilantes on the border who are armed only with guns and beer. I think I should add these pertinent things. Curvebill (talk) 16:05, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- It would be nice if you would add a reference too.--Maitch (talk) 16:47, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
