Evander Holyfield
[edit]On Joe Rogan's Oct 7 podcast, Evander mentioned he was going to be in the movie at time mark 54:25. Should that be mentioned? B.Valley (talk) 03:45, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
- No, that alone is not a reliable source. For cast/crew/info to qualify to be placed on Wikipedia, there should be many reliable news sources, not just a single podcast. If Evander's casting is confirmed on several news sources, like The Hollywood Reporter, than it can be added. For now, I opt to leave Evander off. Cardei012597 (talk) 04:07, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
- I don't think he's in it Samurai Kung fu Cowboy (talk) 04:11, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
No, but Dikembe Mutombo appears for a few seconds, with his trademark wagging finger and "No no no." Is that worth mentioning? Rcarlberg (talk) 23:47, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
- No, not really. Cardei012597 (talk) 00:02, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
Wesley Snipes's role: "General Izzi" instead of "General Eazie"
[edit]There might be a spelling mistake on Wesley Snipes's role: Wesley Snipes will most likely replace Calvin Lockhart, who died in 2007. Lockhart's role was "General Izzi", father of Imani Izzi - Akeem's "queen to be" ;) from the first movie -, and not "General Eazie" - also see https://movieweb.com/coming-to-america-2-cast-wesley-snipes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.114.104.121 (talk) 13:01, 9 March 2020 (UTC)
- I fixed the error. Cardei012597 (talk) 17:46, 9 March 2020 (UTC)
no sequel!
[edit]there may or may not be a third one in the future, but if murphy said it'd be "when he's 75", that's obviously a joke. making fun of how long this one took.
i say we strike that section. 66.30.47.138 (talk) 05:13, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- Ok, I removed the sequel section, as it does seem to be based on a joke or some kind of humor, per reading the Variety source more thoroughly. Cardei012597 (talk) 06:06, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- Too many articles have Sequel sections based on even less information, and far less reliable sources, but I can't help but agree. -- 109.78.210.212 (talk) 18:41, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
- The wording of the Variety news source implies that Eddie Murphy was making a joke, rather than seriously confirming a sequel is happening. Cardei012597 (talk) 18:44, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
Uncle Remus
[edit]User Cardei012597 removed my link to Uncle Remus as "not necessary," but I disagree. Tracy Morgan's character was not named at random, and the link to Joel Chandler Harris's character is important, I think, in light of the film's message of Black empowerment and self-respect. Rcarlberg (talk) 15:38, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
- There, I restored the link. Now, can we please both move on from this. Cardei012597 (talk) 18:11, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
Comedy or Romantic comedy?
[edit]Why is the first movie described as a romantic comedy and the second not? --Hi, future humans! (talk) 23:15, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
