Picture
[edit]I swapped out the picture of Wizard of Oz for Little Women. It's apparently open to discussion among critics whether Wizard is a coming of age novel. And I mean it is a fantasy story, takes place over just a few weeks (I guess), and tho Dorothy learns an important lesson (home is good, don't run away) and I suppose grows as a person (in courage etc.) doesn't really grow up. She's still a child at the end. It's more of a heroic-quest story, so if it did fit it it would be as bildingsroman, but not even that IMO. Little Women is very much a coming-of-age story.
I moved the picture to the lede cos the first section is about something a coming-of-age is not (altho, close) and the second is about teen films specifically, mostly recent. There's actually little content here beyond that specialized subject, and so nowhere else to put it. Herostratus (talk) 00:28, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
