Untitled comment
This page only lists stand-up comics, so I added 2 from Tv and film.
Altenative comendy as a genre
That is, I don't really know that It should be defined as one after reading the article of alternative comedy. Genre is a set of conventions that define something, where alternative comedy's conventions do not seem nearly consistent enough to constitute a genre.
Wordplay?
Shouldn't there be a category for verbal comedy/wordplay/wit? Aroundthewayboy 02:00, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Double act?
The page does not seem to mention the Double act, or does that fall under one or more of the existing table entries? --Teratornis 05:22, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Impersonations
I forgot the word "Impersonations" (been in Japan too long) and came to this page to find it but it was not here. A major genre of comedy, non? --Timtak (talk) 06:55, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
Sketch/Upshow comedy
Hi, just wanted to clear any confusion about the recent points on Upshow Comedy and Sketch Improv Comedy. Those points were put in by a friend of mine who is an aspiring stand-up comic, and these two types are his own inventions that he's hoping to popularize on his own someday. This was his first time using Wikipedia, and I think he's learned since then this is not a place for posting info on yourself. However, someone else had added other comedians to those types' tabs on famous comedians. Since only my friend does this type of comedy so far, it is likely there was a misunderstanding as to what these two types are really about. My friend has since removed the two tabs. Probable misspelling
I removed "Shranka and Boldbp" from Surreal comedy: it's seemingly misspelled and redlinked. Moreover, I couldn't find the correct form of the name by googling it, so I guess it's either a spoof or extremely non-notable. Omnipedian (talk) 06:03, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Parody or "Pisstake" Comedy
How about a category for spoof comedy? Example: Jerry & David Zucker the writers of The Scary Movie series and Airplane (aka Flying High!) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.239.81.3 (talk) 11:23, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
The people that did Airplane and naked gun should be on the list, because they are funny, unlike some of these people on this list —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.41.131.120 (talk) 00:13, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
wit
i know the simpsons has it's moments but is it really considered wit? seriously? 188.222.41.105 (talk) 22:45, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
Technical Comedy
The table lists Technical Comedy as a type of comedy. But its "Famous comedians/comedy shows" column lists only Don McMillan. The whole Technical Comedy genre may be made up by a Wikipedia visitor (WP:NOR). If we feel like making up a new comedic genre, we could at least try to list more stuff that falls into that category (maybe User Friendly, xkcd thewebsiteisdown.com, stuff/people from Category:Computer_humor and Category:Mathematical_humor, things like that). --82.171.13.139 (talk) 13:10, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
