He didn't actually rape her, did he?
[edit]As I've understood it, the Comedian never managed to actually rape Silk Spectre: He was driven off by Hooded Justice. As such I am changing the article.--Edward Wakelin 04:35, 15 August 2005 (UTC)
- Hm. The incident itself was somewhat ambiguous (understandably so), but I think that Laurie maintains throughout the series that Blake raped her mother. I'd been under the impression that Justice interrupted him in the midst of the act. -DynSkeet (talk) 12:19, August 15, 2005 (UTC)
- Wasn't Silk Spectre 2 the daughter of 1 and the Comedian? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.143.99.147 (talk • contribs) at 13:15, August 6, 2006
- Yup. Blame Eddie's overzealous assumptive need to "correct" the article for any misunderstooding. BTW, Sign your comments. ACS (Wikipedian); Talk to the Ace. See what I've edited. 17:45, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- She wasn't concieved during the rape/attempted rape though. So that fact is irrelevant to this debate. - 85.210.21.73 21:09, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
Blake was drunk?
[edit]<<Although Veidt was able to overpower and kill Blake in an ambush where Blake was thrown out a window, Blake was apparently drunk at the time, while Veidt's physical abilities appear to have dramatically increased over the time since their last fight.>>
Veidt had certainly come on a long way. Also, Blake was over 60 and not as fast as he used to be. Remember that Rorschach was strong enough to break through a security-locked front door with a single shove (and that was the new lock that Dreiberg got to replace the lock that Rorschach broke on his first visit) and Veidt beat him like a red-headed stepchild. However big Blake's muscles may have been, by the time Veidt had hit him in the face a few times, they weren't going to be much use to him. True that Blake was having a drink in front of the TV when his door was kicked in, but there's no evidence that he was drunk.Captain Pedant 13:02, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
Yes, Veidt anticipated him coming, and Rorschach never landed a blow. Just shows that Veidt is merely faster, and has better technique, therefore not a great comparison of raw strength. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.170.152.3 (talk) 15:17, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Comedian.jpg
[edit]Image:Comedian.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Gimp Style Mask
[edit]Is there any justification in calling the mask The Comedian wears after his facial scarring a 'gimp-style mask'? I've read the book many times and don't remember any reference to this. It is simply a leather mask, there is no need to include 'gimp-style'. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Greensalad82 (talk • contribs) 21:02, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
Iran Hostage Crisis
[edit]It is stated that Blake successfully ended the Iran Hostage Crisis, which would have taken place during Jimmy Carter's presidency, but since Nixon extended, it's likely that the immediate solution of the crisis helped solidify Nixon's position as extended president. It would be nice if this could be mentioned. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.206.110.180 (talk) 03:39, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Edward's scar
[edit]Does Blake's scar slightly resemble a Glasgow smile, or did I watch Dark Knight to much? (JoeLoeb (talk) 23:07, 5 February 2009 (UTC))

Doomsday Clock and the Smiley Faced Badge
[edit]In the section titled The Smiley Faced Badge, there is a link to the page Doomsday Clock (comics), when it should instead refer to Doomsday Clock. The Blood on the button is shown at the beginning of the first watchmen series, so it could not possibly refer to the sequel series of comics. Instead, it is a reference to the position of the Doomsday Clock, a symbol of global catastrophe, within the first series' story.
Here's a link to an interview with Watchman creator Dave Gibbons hosted on Entertainment weekly: [1]https://ew.com/books/2017/06/15/watchmen-smiley-face-dave-gibbons-interview/ In the article, Dave definitively states that the blood spatter on the button was a reference to the Doomsday Clock.
