Consensus per this RfC closure and this RfM closure is to use "the Beatles" mid-sentence. |

[edit]Tkbrett I feel like we need to do something about this. What do you think? – zmbro (talk) 00:25, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, zmbro, this page is really a piece of crap at the moment. I'm glad you mentioned it, since incidentally this song holds sentimental value for me; I think it was the first Beatles I was ever exposed to, being maybe twelve at a school assembly when some guys from the school band played it. They explained beforehand their difficulties in achieving the same drum sound until they did some research and realized (1) that Ringo plays left-handed on a right-handed kit and (2) he put tea towels over his toms. The thing that stuck out for me though was the bass – I'm sure the guy playing it did an awful job, but it blew me away regardless. Maybe I'll put "I'll Cry Instead" and "In My Life" on the back burner and work on this one instead. Picking which song to work on next is always the hardest part, so I'm glad you did that for me here. Tkbrett (✉) 12:36, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- Tkbrett Although "In My Life" is actually my favorite Beatles song, I would say we need to do this first, as this is (very debatably), more well known than "IML" and especially "ICI". If you need assistance from me I'll try my best to help out. I'm sure I can divvy up some web sources somewhere (bookwise I'm limited to MacDonald and Lewisohn). – zmbro (talk) 12:43, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think "Hey Jude" is the only Beatles song article with more daily views. Anyway, sounds good to me. Do you have anything on any of the artists that covered it? Besides solo-John, I have nothing outside my local library. Tkbrett (✉) 12:50, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- Unfortunately nope. I'm sure some web sources could help out, I also have the Open Library I could check out later tonight. I'll ping JG66 and see if he can help out. – zmbro (talk) 12:57, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- The page needs a chart section, since it was number one on Billboard and number four in the UK (not to mention charting again in 1989 and 2010). I'll hold off for the moment while you're working to avoid any editing conflicts. Tkbrett (✉) 13:07, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- Was just thinking the same thing. No go right ahead, I'll see if I can find some sources for a few of the covers. – zmbro (talk) 13:08, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- I added what I could find. Formatting is somewhat goofy because the infoboxes are pushing everything down, but I presume it'll be better once the page gets longer. Tkbrett (✉) 14:07, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- Sweet. Added Acclaimed Music, and will continue adding best-of lists, as that's one thing I know I can do xD – zmbro (talk) 15:32, 29 September 2021 (UTC)

Tkbrett What do you think should be done about that audio sample? (uploaded 16 years ago) – zmbro (talk) 20:58, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
