Nominating for speedy deletion

[edit]

This was tagged for proposed deletion, but hoaxes are candidates for speedy deletion under CSD G3. Verification for the hoax can be found here. However, if this hoax becomes a notable and newsworthy event in and of itself (possible because of the date), then an article like Columbian Chemicans Plant explosion hoax should probably be created. Newsworthy enough for a move to an article about the hoax?

[edit]

It looks like this is picking up steam in local news outlets as a hoax, and a number of accounts on Twitter are starting to trend the #ColumbianChemicals hashtag. There were screenshots being circulated on Twitter of the New Orleans Times-Picayune's website reporting the explosion, but this appears to be photoshopped, according to the Times-Picayune's own verified Twitter account. I've been rewriting the article to make it clear that it is a hoax, since this is the first google hit for "Columbian Chemicals explosion." Any thoughts on moving this to its own article?
