[edit]- "Colotis aurora Cramer, 1780 – Plain Orange-tip is commonly but incorrectly given as Colotis eucharis Fabricius, 1775 in Indian books."
-- but --
- http://www.nic.funet.fi/pub/sci/bio/life/insecta/lepidoptera/ditrysia/papilionoidea/pieridae/pierinae/colotis/index.html says:
- Colotis aurora (Cramer, [1780]) is Africa-based
- Colotis eucharis (Fabricius, 1775) is India-based
Someone more knowledgeable on this topic than me will need to sort this out. wbm1058 (talk) 02:31, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
- 'incorrectly given as' does not suggest they are synonyms, they probably suggest a misidentification. There is no reason to merge. Ruigeroeland (talk) 11:40, 20 January 2017 (UTC)
- I read most of those literature and summarized the information at Colotis_aurora#Taxonomy. Colotis eucharis seems an invalid taxon. Jee 10:12, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- I have boldly added a redirect from eucharis - for a history of edits to that article please look for it at Colotis eucharis. Shyamal (talk) 14:00, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
