[edit]This mans a cultural identity in New Zealand. Some information on his icon status would complement the article nicely. Kiwimade 11:42, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
A bit one-sided maybe?
[edit]Except for his sending-off, there's nothing at all here about the darker side of Meads' career; I would have thought that the incident with Ken Catchpole was worthy of at least a mention for a start, especially given what it did to Meads' reputation among Aussie rugby fans. And Terry McLean's comments as well: Great? Sort of. Greatest? No. The feeling is of pity that some of our rugby not only tolerates but applauds dangerous play which can result in injuries which turn men, especially young men, into cripples. (Quoted from here).
The fact that Meads is revered by so many people in NZ shouldn't preclude the inclusion of such things in the article. After all, it's not hard to find negative comments about Bradman or Ali. 86.132.138.23 02:02, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
