The main street is called Cole Harbour Road after Caldwell Road.[1]

Criticism

[edit]

The "Colby Village" subdivision is riddled with criticism by neighboring communities as being "The O.C." of Dartmouth. A lot of this disrespect has contributed to the creation of the gang named "Colby Loop". These small time gangs have sprawled in other parts of Cole Harbour. Such gang being the Cole Harbour Connections(CHC). Lots of disrespect has been expressed by community members as well as students of near by schools to these groups. The local RCMP has recently started to deal with these problems as vandalism and trafficking went on the rise. The problem still ensues.

Editor's Note: I don't consider this nonsense as this information is all based on fact, maybe this article should go under the criticism of the culture of the community of people that live here. I live here as well, i' I'm not trying to undermine it.

→These are "gangs" as much as the Shriner's are a "gang". A random group of youths walking around a neighborhood does not constitute a real gang. I believe this is what you were getting at, although it is hard to decipher with your terrible grasp of english and spelling ("crticizim", "vanidlism", "trafficing", "nonesence", "editiors"??) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.224.157.148 (talk) 16:55, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Merger

[edit]

In HRM, the planning area is 'Cole Harbour & Westphal'. On Wikipedia, we have two stub articles. In real life, both communities exist, in a fashion, but it can be argued that the neighborhoods and subdivisions have as strong identities as the the others. I don't want to pretend that both communities are homogenous and identical. I merely wish to merge them, preserve both communities history and identity, but make a better article that also coincides with the actual HRM structure. Otherwise, we would have three stub articles, Cole Harbour, Westphal, AND Cole Harbour and Westphal! I think wikipedia will be better with one strong article.

Practically speaking, Westphal, Nova Scotia and Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia would both redirect to Cole Harbour & Westphal, Nova Scotia WayeMason 02:06, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Avery

[edit]

I'm no expert, but Sean Avery was born in Pickering, how exactly is he from Cole Harbour?

Notables

[edit]

Hi all, I am new to this and tinkering a bit as a school assignment. I noticed that Cam Russell was absent from notable people, and I think being an OG in the NHL and the first person that I know of to make the NHL from Cole Harbour, it is really important to include him.
