Why does this redirect to Symbol?
[edit]IBM's code chart for CP01057 is basically the same as CP437 (for comparison), except with ▒ rather than ⌂ as the 0x7F graphic (sure, that means it's encoded both as a control replacement and as a regular character, but that's no different to ¶ in CP850). In whichever case, it isn't Symbol.
Compare IBM's code chart for CP01038 which is Symbol (which Code page 1038 correctly redirects to).

Closer cross-comparison of the charts shows, compared to CP437:
ŋη in place of ⁿ (probably the biggest one)- ˜ in place of ~ (as differentiated by the same two codes in e.g. the chart for CP1252).
- ˆ in place of ^ (ditto)
- β in place of ß
- ˚ (SD270000, defined e.g. here as Overcircle Accent) in place of ° (SM190000 Degree Symbol)
Most of the changes (except the ˜) appear to be shared with the next code page CP1038, which appears to have also made some more significant changes.

Okay, I've created a stub over the former redirect, for the time being. --HarJIT (talk) 13:33, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

Further detail about difference from 437 which I'm just noting here for future reference:
The GCGID given for the ASCII vertical bar is different, although (unlike the other minor changes) I'm not sure if this corresponds to a different Unicode code point: it's given as SF660000, i.e. the same as [1] 0x85 in Code page 310, although it probably isn't supposed to be mapped to U+2502 (since that's at 0xB3 (SF110000) in both this one and 437)). --HarJIT (talk) 20:52, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
