Coir
[edit]Should this article be merged with coir? Minvaren 17:13, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- No. While cocopeat is sometimes called coir by end users, cocopeat is actually the by product of coir or coconut fiber industries. Ediwill 08:45, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
- On the other hand I have noted many sentences in Wikipedia's Coir page where cocopeat is referred to as coir. Ediwill 02:00, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
If we were to refer to "wheatmaize" would this mean wheat is actually maize ? Cocopeat is definitely not peat - referring to the byproduct of the coconut in such a manner is deceiving to say the least197.87.173.208 (talk) 11:37, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
Cocopeat providers
[edit]Cocopeat providers is spammed all over the page. I've removed them. Mitheral (talk) 19:39, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'll request the link be blacklisted if they continue. --Ronz (talk) 01:40, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
typo
[edit]The word hydroponic in the sentence below is wrong. It should be either hydrophilic or hydrophobic I would guess. Hydroponic refers to a soiless growing method not a property of Coco. Although cocopeat is used in hydroponic gardens itself it is not hydroponic.
Coco is hydroponic so it is highly recommended not to let coco/coco soil mixes to dry out.Coco is porous and cannot be overwatered easily. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.103.184.76 (talk) 19:20, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

Per WP:CAPS ("Wikipedia avoids unnecessary capitalization") and WP:TITLE, this is a generic, common term, not a propriety or commercial term, so the article title should be downcased. Lowercase will match the formatting of related article titles. Tony (talk) 08:34, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
- Support. Makes sense, if I had noticed I might have just made the move as non-controversial. -- Donald Albury 12:03, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
