Image of the Ottoman COA

[edit]

The image of the Ottoman Empire Coat of Arms displyed in this article is of very obvious poor quality (lossy JPEG, with many strong compression artifacts). Don’t you think some better (and bigger) version of the COA should be used? --MaGioZal 07:16, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Correct version?

[edit]

Which of these two versions is correct? They have different colors, and even different details on the escutcheon itself. Adelbrecht (talk) 10:55, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The current one. Espás Doce (talk) 13:55, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Green Flag with three crescents

[edit]
Historic representation

@Oktaytanhu, Juristiltins, and Ssolbergj: What is the source for the three crescents on the green flag in File:Osmanli armasi.svg? It was recently included in the article, replacing File:Osmanli-nisani.svg with one crescent. I revert that for now. All the images that are clearly historic show only one crescent. See c:Category:Sultanic coats of arms of the Ottoman Empire. The only other images with three crescents are these two of dubious origin. Watchduck (quack) 07:37, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
