High School
[edit]I added that Clinton graduated from Comsewogue High School on Long Island in 1987. My mom went to school with him and they were friends. Thefreakshow 21:55, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Sexual Orientation
[edit]Clinton is obviously gay (and I say this as value neutral as saying that he is obviously a brunette) but is there some verifiable cite for this? Francis Burdett 05:24, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
Clinton Kelly's sexuality is hidden on the show for the benefit of middle America. However, he is completely open about it. Although the big hint for me would be the fact that a good friend of mine works with his (now ex) lover and used to hang out with them all the time. Although for any cute guys with a Clinton fetish, strike now, he's single.
Okay, guys. I have found one reference, an interview no less, that states he is openly gay. Unless you can find an actual source that states he is not gay, and I don't mean from Answerbag.com (which says that someone remembers him saying on one of the shows that he is married), please leave it alone. -- Mapetite526 20:38, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- Also, on his own website, he will not answer the gay/not gay question. He does not mention a wife or children. -- Mapetite526 18:09, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Well, he sort of answers the question on his website. The interview is conducted by himself, towards himself (he says so in the intro to the interview). So, he asks himself if he's gay. He responds basically by saying it's nobodies business. Then he says "to answer your last question [regarding his sexuality], he asks "yes?" and responds with "duh." So, I'd say that's a very awkward affirmative. KrewBay 04:26, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
- Either this has been removed or is invented, because this is not currently a part of the interview. So this is not a source, and there is no source. This is an encyclopedia, people. You can't just write whatever you want because you think it's obvious or whatever. I posted an article on the living persons noticeboard, because someone has to put an end to this.--sdream93 (talk) 02:38, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
I think the website counts enough as a yes to justify the edit I made. 24.2.149.182 01:11, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Though I have no idea where the spouse name came from...in fact the only place that has those two names together is this article...so I'm taking that out. --70.183.11.17 03:30, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
FFS. He is GAY as springtime, his site confirms it, and people need to stop removing it from the article. Thanks.
- Whoever you are (no signature), you should read my comment above. Any statements like this about living persons must be from a verifiable source or else risk deletion. I'm deleting it until someone finds a source (his website doesn't count).--sdream93 (talk) 02:38, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
After reading this discussion, I actually became interested in this, wondering if there was anything out there about his sexual orientation. Through a quick google search, I came across the following sources, all of which seem to indicate that Clinton Kelly is gay.[1][2][3][4](apparently other pages on Sovo describe him as gay, but the filter at my school prevents me from accessing much of the site) Will any of these do? I should also point out that the article List of gay, lesbian or bisexual people: K-L also lists Kelly as gay, citing his website as the source. Personally, I feel that this is enough to list him as gay, but I felt I should discuss it here first. —Mears man (talk) 01:16, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
It seems like most of the comments in this discussion page has to do with everybody wanting to know the answer to this question. I've read the self interview he did on his website but I inserted a reference from an online article I found on Southern Voice instead. In this article What Not To Wear's first gay contributor/participant, David Lee, is discussed. Kelly is quoted as saying "There is a gay sensibility to makeovers that makes us a natural to be on the shows and to watch the shows." So there it is. He is openly gay. 98.99.3.166 (talk) 19:37, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
Boston College
[edit]Okay, so if you actually read the article cited about him teaching a "masters class" (http://bcm.bc.edu/issues/spring_2006/linden_lane/style-points.html), you would see that it's not that he taught a class for a master's program. It was just a one-time lecture that BC does with its more famous alumni which was open to the public. I know; I was there for it. So I'm deleting that sentence along with the corresponding reference. Sexual orientation redux
[edit]OK, we've had this conversation before (see above, but I think it occurred elsewhere also(?)), but it's come up again. In Kelly's FAQ he asks himself if he is gay? A few lines later, he answers "Duh." This is a statement that he is gay. It's not synthesis or assumption; the man is saying it himself. Jmcollier, however, doesn't think it is sufficient. Jmc, can you say why you don't think that is good enough? Can other folks weigh in on this issue? Aleta Sing 21:14, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
- Kelly's FAQ has him identifying as gay, however humorously he did it. One's own statement is certainly a good enough source. -- AvatarMN (talk) 23:12, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- There are a few other reliable sources that confirm this as well. -- Banjeboi 07:14, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- I've added some content, refs and did some additional clean-up. -- Banjeboi 07:31, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- I added a reference to the article that Mears man found on Boston College's GLBT Leadership Council's website. They have a section that list notable GLBT alumni; Clinton's name and creditials are listed there. 98.99.173.70 (talk) 17:24, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
