Removed text
[edit]Following text removed from article (more appropriate to a talk page): "This entry has been extensively altered to correct the mistakes made by previous contributors. All the altered text can be verified by information held by The Cumbrian Railways Association." Folks at 137 (talk) 11:51, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
Locomotives
[edit]As the locomotives section is quite long I am thinking of moving it to a separate article. This has already been done for the major railways, e.g. Locomotives of the London and North Western Railway. Please discuss. Biscuittin (talk) 07:59, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
Renaming
[edit]I have reverted the addition of the following text:
- Mention of the nameplate "Rothersyke" being transferred to "Ennerdale"is not mentioned in C&WJR Company minutes so this information regarding being renamed Rothersyke is suspect. In order to rename an engine one would think it would need BOD approval and be minuted.
This was misplaced - commentary belongs on this talk page, not in the article.
Locomotive names need not be a Board matter - and it is in fact rare for directors to concern themselves with such things. Some railways honoured their directors by naming locos after them - and in such cases the individual director would be asked for permission - but it would not be a matter for the Board as a whole. Loco names would be shown in the asset register or the maintenance records, not in the Board minutes. --Redrose64 (talk) 18:29, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
