Acoustics section
As a physicist and professional clarinetist, I can say that much of the Acoustics section is nonsense. Furthermore, it has no sources for many of the nonsense statements made (because there are no sources that back up physical nonsense). The foremost authority on the acoustics of the clarinet was the famous physicist Arthur Benade. He wrote the book called the Fundamentals of Musical Acoustics which is sort of the bible of musical acoustics. All the information needed for this section is in that book with copious actual citations in there. He was also a clarinetist so he had a special affinity for that part of his vast research and writing. I have copies of all of his unpublished work on the clarinet as well, and I would be happy to attempt to rewrite and properly source the non-physical nonsense that is currently there. I can't imagine how this article achieved a rating as a "Good Article" with such nonsense, though, so I suspect the minute I attempt to put some actual physics in there I will be descended upon by non-physicists. How can such poorly sourced (and barely sourced at all for that matter) section be considered a "Good Article"? --TheClarinetGuy talk 04:52, 20 January 2017 (UTC)
