No consensus to move. Vegaswikian (talk) 17:42, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Clarence "Frogman" Henry → Clarence Henry —: Article names are not supposed to have quotes; see WP:NAME. 24.209.120.222 (talk) 07:49, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose. The no-quotes policy does not apply here; Clarence "Frogman" Henry is the common name, and should be used per WP:COMMONNAME; the proposed move would cause more confusion with the boxer Clarence Henry; and the move provides no navigational advantage.
- The no-quotes policy refers to enclosing titles of works in quotes: Article titles which are quotes (or song titles, etc.) are not enclosed in quotation marks (e.g. To be, or not to be is the article title, while "To be, or not to be" is a redirect to that article). That is not applicable here. The article title here is not a quote such as a song title.
- Rather, WP:NAME (WP:COMMONNAME) provides Articles are normally titled using the name which is most commonly used to refer to the subject of the article in English-language reliable sources. The most common name to refer to this singer is Clarence "Frogman" Henry. It is the name under which Henry performed and recorded. All three of the articles external links use that name; two of them exclusively. It's the name used on allmusic.com (probably the largest Internet resource on commercially-produced music): [1]. It is the name used on Henry's own albums: [http://www.amazon.com/I-Like-That-Alligator-Baby/dp/B00000IMZI], [http://www.amazon.com/Aint-Got-No-Home-Best/dp/B000002OC4].
- Moving would also exacerbate the existing confusion with the boxer Clarence Henry ([2]). I note that all four mainspace links to the redirect Clarence Henry are intended for the boxer (see [3]; I may have cleaned this up by the time you read this, however, since these are clear errors). (additional comment: Actually, I'm not going to clean them up, for now. Pending the outcome of this RM, I may write a stub on the boxer so they have somewhere to link to.)
- Nearly all intentional (i.e., not the boxer) links to this article are to Clarence "Frogman" Henry (a few to Clarence Frogman Henry or Frogman Henry). Clarence Henry already redirects to this article. So, in addition to the common name requirement, moving the article provides no navigational advantage. Moving is not appropriate. - Oppose. That's right. Rothorpe (talk) 18:24, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose per above. Clarence "Frogman" Henry is how he his billed and refers to him self professionally. Infrogmation (talk) 01:41, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
