Population

[edit]

I looked up Kearny Mesa, and its population was listed. Since there's very little residential area in Kearny Mesa, I was curious to compare it to a neighbor of similar geographic size with a high population; Clairemont. But this data is not listed, and I wasn't able to find it. Anybody? Verminjerky (talk) 11:21, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Hide inside" etc.

[edit]

"Police in the area have asked residents to stay inside after dark in these areas due to aggressive attacks.[citation needed]"

L F*cking O L!!! I live in east clairemont, and it's not as bad as southeast san diego, or the south bay. I never heard of this!!! The are may have it's issues, but there no more worse than many other places in San Diego.

Tbanks for deleting it. I wonder about the "drug" accusations as well. While there is undoubtedly drug abuse there as there is most everywhere, is it worse in Clairemont so it deserves mention? Student7 (talk) 14:26, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Take a look at the crime reports in Clairemont. While the numbers are low in West Clairemont, they are horrendous in East. http://www.sandiego.gov/police/stats/
No article is a WP:COATRACK for police blotter stuff. If crime is the worst in this community compared to all the others in SD, maybe. If it isn't perfect, then it shouldn't be mentioned because it isn't perfect anyplace. Student7 (talk) 20:07, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I just reviewed the most recent crime statistics from the above link, from January 2011 to September 2011. East Clairemont has a much higher crime rate than north Clairemont, which in turn has a higher crime rate than west Clairemont, but it's by no means particularly high crime for such a highly populated area, bearing in mind that San Diego is very low crime for such a large city. Areas with higher crime rates include East Village, Kensington, North Park, Mira Mesa, University City, Kearny Mesa, San Ysidro, (I kid you not) La Jolla, and it surprises me to know that by far the highest crime areas in San Diego are Pacific Beach and Mission Valley (the latter when totaled for east and west portions). By no means is the crime rate in any part of Clairemont noteworthy, and I'd add, as a lifelong resident of west Clairemont, the idea that the police issue warnings to stay inside for anything but something specific is ludicrous. Picture of guys standing around a board

[edit]

I realize that this is a picture furnished by the historical society. It is essentiallyh unlabeled. We don't know if they were having an open house or what. Coming back from church maybe? How about a picture of a street with palms? Something attractive. This is just uninteresting.Student7 (talk) 12:25, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
