Voluntaryist?
[edit]I see that Claire is listed in Category:Voluntaryists. Voluntaryists oppose all initiatory force, yet Claire supports revolution and gives explicit advice for monkeywrenching. As such, can she really be considered a voluntaryist in the mode of Spooner or Rothbard? Her philosophy seems more in line with some sort of revolutionary individualist anarchism. To that end, unless anyone objects, I have removed her categorization as a "voluntaryist."
Message
[edit]Does anyone know how to send a message to Claire Wolfe? Her forum seems to be down. Aldrich Hanssen (talk) 10:44, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Claire can be reached through the mental militia forums at http://thementalmilitia.com/forums/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.73.204.62 (talk) 20:37, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
If Claire Wolfe IS a guy posing as a woman I'd be pretty annoyed. So I'd love to see ref'd info on pseudonyms etc. So let's get some references in this article since right now per WP:BLP just about all the info could be deleted so that any real Claire Wolfe's out there don't sue wikipedia :-) . I can't reference this in the article, since it would violate wikipedia standards, but i assisted with one aspect of one of Claires books, and spoke with her several times, so I can verify that Claire is not a guy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.73.204.62 (talk) 20:35, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for that clarification. There has been considerable discussion about this. One popular supposition was that it was a pen name for Bill St Clair. Trasel (talk) 02:48, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
- I should have noted I took it out a couple weeks ago because there wasn't a WP:RS questioning whether or not Claire was a woman or a pseudonym. (Plus my roommate remembered hearing her speak in 1998.) But it would be nice if someone could reference the factoids before someone comes along and deletes them all. I just don't have time. If you can't deal with formatting references, put them up in parenthesis and I'll format them real quick. Carol Moore 12:57, 18 October 2008 (UTC)Carolmooredc
I am new at wikipedia, so sorry if I'm doing this wrong. The flag at the top of the article calls for references. I believe I just provided what's needed, but I don't know how to get the flag removed. I also updated some information in the article, then had it wiped out while I was working when someone replaced the old flag (Sept '08) with a new one (Jan '09). I restored my updates, but I don't know what to do next. Thank you for your help. CountryPrincess357 (talk) 16:20, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- We need more than just one ref. Thanks, SqueakBox 16:29, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
How to unflag?
[edit]I'm new to wikipedia, so sorry if I'm doing this or other things wrong. But I just updated the Claire Wolfe article, and part of that update was to add a reference that I think probably satisfies the requirements of the "flag". How do I get the flag removed or ask for it to be removed?
I know I already made a mistake trying to remove a flag myself. Somehow, all my edits on the article up to that point got wiped out and a new flag went up. So I don't want to get in trouble. Thank you.CountryPrincess357 (talk) 16:53, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- You need more than one ref and if uyyou remove the flag nbow I will restore it, but please do look for more refs. Thanks, SqueakBox 23:26, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- First, it's called a tag. Flag is something else being discussed on wikipedia so best to avoid confusion.
- Plus, while libertarians know who Vin S. is, most people don't so it would help to get a better source than something that looks self-published. See WP:RS. It can take a while to learn all the ins and outs of wikipedia! CarolMooreDC (talk) 01:48, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
