Also, the connection to the Sadler's guild is under-developed
I was at Northampton Engineering College from October 1949 to July 1952. The school of engineering was a full time place for London University students. I see nothing associated with NEC in the article. There were a number separate Disciplines including Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical. The college operated during the day and there was a night school educational department, however this department was called the Polytechnic! The engineering courses were over a three period and divided into two sections: General engineering and then specialization. Like this engineers were turned out a knowledgeable in engineering, but capable in there chosen discipline. I do not like the idea, that the great time I had at NEC was to be lost, especially the idea that NEC is gone and no knows about it. I have no knowledge of the over-riding Institute, but I do remember very clearly going to NEC for three years and walking in the front door as it was then, see photo! Currently, I have returned to the ghost of NEC in terms of City University as a PhD candidate working remotely from San Diego, USA.
