Duplicated info in table

[edit]

I appreciate the added info by WilliamsKat13304 (talk · contribs)! The new table format's "description" column takes up a lot of vertical space on small screens (e.g., phones) and has the same information as in the "Description" section. It might be better to avoid duplicating the same information in both places, keeping the table as only a sortable list of teams and dates, for example. Background colors in table

[edit]

The summary table uses a row-level background color per table. This has the effect of low contrast on some text and links. For example, a visited link in row 1 (#795CB2) has a contrast ratio of 2.01:1 with its background color (#F08080), which is below WCAG accessibility thresholds for people with vision problems. In addition, the table has a large variation in color. A user who wants to, for example, see all uniforms introduced in 2021 can sort by introduction date to get this information without relying on color. I propose removing background colors from the summary table. White 720 (talk) 15:11, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the background colors on the table. This would help people see better. WilliamsKat13304 (talk) 15:40, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Maintenance tag on article

[edit]

This article is written like an advertisement for City Connect. Some examples:

  • dark blue with sky blue accents, with elements inspired by the flag of Chicago.
  • an orange and white design, a silhouette of the Golden Gate Bridge, and a unique fog gradient across the front, sleeves,
  • a navy base, tequila sunrise accents
  • a white base, pink and mint sleeves
  • an anthracite base, pink accents and printed cherry blossoms in honor of the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival
  • a blue gradient base, and white and yellow accents

These descriptions sound like a product placement ad for MLB.com, or commentary from an emcee at a fashion review show. That amount of intricate detail is not needed. Wikipedia articles about a company or organization should not be written like an advertisement for the company and/or their products, and articles are not an extension of their website or press releases, or other efforts to sell their merchandise. I have heard what you have said and thanks for clarity. City Connect is not only a brand name, but it is also part of alternate uniforms for Major League Baseball, since teams started wearing theirs based on a schedule. The teams and their uniform designs, or descriptions, are in their sections by year, I will not remove it because if I remove it, the reader would not know what the design of the teams that have worn it. I will be, however, working on expanding the teams into their own sections by including details of their caps and jerseys. These changes would help improve this article as to becoming an Encyclopedia Article, and not specifically written like an advertisement. Thank you for your concern though.
