Merge proposal
[edit]I propose merging Wadi Kham into Cinyps (Libya) . I believe it's the same place.Kimdime (talk) 13:06, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
- The only obvious objection is that Wadi Kam refers to a "protected area", not just the river (at least, the article doesn't indicate that it refers specifically to the river), and is in the template for protected areas of Libya. Most of the information at Cinyps is from antiquity, so it makes sense to keep it there, rather than moving it to the modern name of what seems to be an area of comparatively little importance (at least in modern times). It would also be appropriate to mention that (the area around it?) is protected under modern Libyan law, so there's no problem adding the information there. But that probably could stand to be expanded, and I'm not sure whether the template is meant to link to a river chiefly known from antiquity, as opposed to whatever protections there are for the area in modern times.
