Removal
I removed these people from the list of actors:
- George Lopez
- Alexis Bledel
- Cheech Marin
- Gabriel Union
- Frank Capra
- Eva mendez
- Eva Longoria
- America Paredos
- Eduardo Palomo
- Edward James Olmos
To my knowledge they have not performed in any Mexican films.--Rockero 02:50, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- Robert Rodriguez is Mexican American. His films are American. Please do not add actors/directors who have not directed/acted in Mexican films.--Rockero 19:15, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, Eduardo Palomo was a Mexican actor, being in movies like "Mi Querido Tom Mix" and "El Extensionista", and TV shows "Ramona", "Corazon Salvaje", among others. But I don't know if I should add him to the name in the actual article. IMO, the list of artists should be separate from this one.--Jriff87 06:00, 3rd June 2009 (UTC)
mexico is racist, most actors in cinema are caucasian, when most mexicans are mestizo or indigenous —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.156.85.105 (talk) 22:55, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
Who wrote this???
It's obvious that the guy who wrote this don't know anything about mexican cinema. On the Golden Era, only recalled Cantinflas and Tin Tan?? only comedians cinema were made on the golden era?? that is a horrible mistake....
Wane of Cantinflas' popularity
Only until the appearance of "Tin-Tan" in the late 1940s did his popularity wane. When did it start waning? "Until" means when it stopped waning. Nidorino 17:42, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
Sexicomedias
This certainly should be expanded. These films are the equivelant of American exploitation. --69.149.79.235 05:39, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Nuevo Cine Mexiano
In Nuevo Cine Mexicano, it states that the latest are Amores perros by Alejandro González Iñárritu, Y tu mamá también by Alfonso Cuarón and Tijuana Makes Me Happy by Dylan Verrechia. Is Dylan Verrechia on the same level as Alfonso Cuaron and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu? XinJeisan 18:14, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Elcrimendelpadreamaro.PNG
Image:Elcrimendelpadreamaro.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:42, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Cantinflas in the theatre.jpg
The image Image:Cantinflas in the theatre.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.
The following images also have this problem:

Notable Mexicans in the American film industry
American film industry? Oh does that mean the USA? Or the continent of America?
Isn't this off topic? This page should be about Mexican Cinema! It is interesting that this absurd section is not included in the Spanish language version of this page.
Also it is slightly inaccurate to simply lable Guillermo del Toro and Alfonso Cuadron as working in the american film industry, as if they did't work anywhere else; they have both made Mexican, American and European films.
It very inaccurate to describe Gael Garcia Bernal as working in the American Film industry; has actually acted in very few US films (as far as I can see only Garcia Bernal has acted in 22 films but only 3 US films: Babel (with a mexican director), The King (a british director) and The Limits of Control.
Personal Checklist
I want to edit this article thoroughly and amke it really good. I want to do the following
1. Expand on all the sections (put a good amount of readable, great information about each period's backgrounds and contributions)
2. Ask if we can create a separate article (or articles) for directors, actors, etc. Some of these people have other articles on Wikipedia, and others don't, but that can be fixed in the future.
3. Possibly remove the "Mexican in the American Film Industry" section.
Now I know that fleshing out articles is always accepted--but I don't know if I could provide a personal ruling on moving sections into their own pages. I'd be glad to have some backing up.
As for expanding information on the Cinema itself...I can provide a lot of information, but I need more free time to make an appropriate contribution. Doing the same for the Spanish version and creating good articles for works and artists will take some time too.-- User:Jriff87. June 4th, 2009 01:39 AM
- Go right ahead. Personally, I think the sections, 'Notable Mexicans in the American film industry' and 'Mexican cinema personalities' need to be moved, turned into prose or simply removed. MahangaTalk 06:03, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
