An external link
I just removed that link from the page because it was added by an IP from California Newsreel. It does seem to fit the page fairly well, but I'm probably not the best to evaluate it for inclusion, so I'm removing it. If you don't have a conflict of interest and believe it to be worthy of inclusion, please put it back. -- ke4roh 02:02, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- I just added a link to a pan-African film festival in Cannes. Should others not be added? There are not all that many, yet they offer an insight into contemporary creation. Writie (talk) 21:33, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

Are all changes clashes?
The subordinate nature in early cinema in Africa and the prominence of some cinematic roots in the work of European anthropologist, ethnographers and others that attempt an understanding of those that are not initially perceived the same as they should show us that when it comes to changes in a society or culture that there is not necessarily a clash and that if we look at or present something as a clash we seriously need to understand if that is our own subconscious imposition on others rather than the elements of that society or culture. Was Manouchka Kelly Labouba's Le Divorce a "clash" or merely the impact of the society and culture of up to that time on the divorce? US cinema had its Our Gang, Keaton Cops and Hop Along Cassidy comedies and action thrillers. Other countries had themes much different and influenced by the work of social scientists. If someone calls it a clash then how are we to know that we are imposing on another group who we have yet to understand. Are we imposing our own values on them instead of the values of their nuance coming through. Of course this is all for naught if you are unable to see the penumbra. It can be expressed by the two views that as long as something is not coercive, deceptive or injurious then what am I to say about someone else doing it. Versus, It is something that I do not like therefore it will not be done by anyone anywhere.66.74.176.59 (talk) 23:01, 10 September 2014 (UTC)

talks about " communal " experiences -- should this be "commom" or "shared"? Elinruby (talk) 05:08, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
1980s and 1990s section
- what is a globalized African metropolis? This seems like it should be expanded either way
- what are the exotic tastes of western audiences?

List of cinema by region?
I wonder why this article needs a list of cinema by region, as there is already the pop-up list on Cinema in Africa at the bottom. Also, lists like these interrupt the reader's experience in descriptive text and therefore are usually published as separate list articles. - If nobody objects, I suggest deleting this list in a week...
