Might I propose that this be moved to Church of the Transfiguration? (with a redirect, of course) Makemi 05:09, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- While open to discussion or following a precedent, I did rather carefully consider which name to use for the article and felt that as the name Little Church is the much more common name in use by the general public that perhaps it was the one to use. Even their web page uses "littlechurch.org" however as before, I am open to discussion Doc 08:27, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
New International Encyclopedia biography
According to New International Encyclopedia George Hendrick Houghton was the founder of the church. I produced an article employing the word "Hendrick" which the encyclopedia contains. I am introducing a link to George Hendrick Houghton based on the information, even though "Hendric" may be the proper way to spell the middle name! Superslum 12:32, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- No problem with the link, but the church records show the correct spelling to be 'Hendric' and the article here should be correct. I will add to the article with information from his biography printed by the church of which I have a copy. Doc 14:34, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
TMI?
There's seems both Not Enough and Too Much Information about the spat between the vestry and the last rector, which gives exact dates (who cares?) but fails to say what any of the issues were. The outsider is left wondering what the **** was going on: was the rector a heretic, or were the vestry merely resisting the introduction of real Christianity into a comfortable high-church cocoon? I suggest a much more concise comment, along the lines of "The sixth Rector, Charles Miller, resigned after a disagreement with vestry and the intervention of the diocesan bishop under Canon 33 (Dissolution of the Pastoral Relation)". As it stands, it is unfairly biased towards the vestry's viewpoint, and against Dr Miller, who has to continue his pastorate elsewhere. Myopic Bookworm 11:31, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- I removed the Miller text because I was not able to find a WP:V source for this and it is a WP:BLP situation where that text could be seen as negative. I additionally removed a link that didn't really have any purpose without that text. I've no objection if someone adds it back, but it needs to be adequately sourced by reliable sources.--Isotope23 talk 13:01, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
