Joni Mitchell's first husband?

[edit]

I presume that if this was the same Chuck Mitchell that was a folk singer and, for a short time in the 1960s, was married to Joni Mitchell, or it would say so. Wouldn't it be appropriate to have a disambiguation pointer at the top of the page saying "For the folk singer, see the article on Joni Mitchell"? 71.254.253.114 (talk) 10:07, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We need to know whether or not the two Chucks were the same man before we make any changes of that nature. Nietzsche 2 (talk) 01:52, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

They are different because (1) The actor is dead. (2)I know Chuck Mitchell of Keokuk and he is not dead. (3) Here is his website and bio: https://www.mitchellsong.com/bio.php. (4)BTW, he was Joni Mitchell's only husband and she still bears his name. I have his email address if it is needed, but I don't wish to publish it here.

Chuck Mitchell of Keokuk, Iowa is a folk singer/actor. He was indeed married to Joni Mitchell, and her song " I had a king " is written about him. He is one of the greatest conversationalists I have encountered in my travels, and despite his grumpy old goat outward appearance and nature, he has a very kind heart and is a very wise soul. Mr. Mitchell leads the charge in saving historic homes and buildings in Keokuk, and has quite a selection of antique lumber and home building materials available for purchase on any sunday morning. His silky smooth style of guitar finger picking is rarely rivaled, and his portrayals of Woodie Guthrie, Stephen Foster, and Mark Twain are all highly acclaimed.

Chuck Mitchell was indeed once married to Joni Anderson (Mitchell). I know Chuck and have for years. He is not the Chuck Mitchell that was in "Porky's" but the folksinger. He is an iconic figure who was part of a duo that was Chuck and Joni Mitchell until their divorce. He has been married three times. I have known this man for years. He is also a fine song writer himself who has recorded two albums, one on the iconic Vanguard Records label during the 1960s; the other was a live album recorded in the 70s at the Night Raven Gallery Coffee House in Detroit. In fact, we are on our way to see and hear him sing this evening in Pasadena, California, at the Coffee Gallery coffee house on North Lake Street, owned by the former owner of the Pasadena Ice House.

This Chuck Mitchell was NOT Joni Mitchell's husband. This Chuck Mitchell was best know as "Porky" from the 1980 film series. He was born in Bridgeport Connecticut and spent his early years entertaining at the Military USO clubs all over the world. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.198.216.45 (talk) 23:14, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
