Introduction - restrict discussion to acquired 5q- deletions
[edit]"5q- syndrome" is an inexact (but often used) term which only refers to the acquired deletions of 5q commonly seen in myelodysplastic syndrome, a hematological ("prelukemia") disorder. And MDS is not rare.
The 5q- syndrome is unrelated to constitutional (i.e., germ-line) deletions of chromosome 5, That clarification seems unnecessary in the intro section.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Dosware (talk • contribs) 17:45, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
