This appears to be a textbook WP:BLP1E situation, given the lack of coverage of the subject beyond this crime. It does not seem to meet the notability guidelines listed at WP:PERP either. Right now this looks like an AfD candidate, but I'm opening the discussion of notability here to see if these BLP-related issues can be addressed. Bakazaka (talk) 09:59, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Bakazaka Sorry I did not see a discussion or think to look for one here. I see SIGCOV. IMO the subject is notable for horrific crimes the same way Jeffery Dahmer or other criminals who commit a horrific crime are notable. I have added WP:RS. I think we could argue WP:PERP The motivation for the crime or the execution of the crime is unusual—or has otherwise been considered noteworthy It certainly was reported worldwide, and i have included the New Zealand press and other international news sources. I think the crimes are so mind boggling, as to make this criminal and his crimes extremely noteworthy Lightburst (talk) 20:00, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You still have not addressed WP:BLP1E. As for WP:PERP, it's not about what you or I feel about the motivation, but about what reliable sources say. Does this subject have the same level of RS coverage as Jeffery Dahmer, in your opinion? Bakazaka (talk) 20:05, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
From WP:BLP1EIf the event is not significant or the individual's role was either not substantial or not well documented. John Hinckley Jr., for example, has a separate article because the single event he was associated with, the Reagan assassination attempt, was significant and his role was both substantial and well documented. I argue that this person's crimes were so terrible that they were reported around the world. 54 life sentences is a notable sentence. Dahmer is perhaps a bad example. He was a special kid of evil criminal. I do not want to debate it and waste more bytes if you feel strongly about it: I was just POROD patrolling and improving PRODs. Cheers!
