Problems

Several issues with this article:

There seems to be quite a lot of peacocking and COI.

Some of the CNVLD accomplishments seem to be piggy-backing on International Committee of the Red Cross successes

Someone with a Cambodia IP address keeps on deleting referenced material & links, and rolling back edits with comments such as 'incorrect information subject to libel' which is strange as the deleted material is well referenced. COI?

Many 'accomplishments' aren't referenced even though there should be good sources on many of these but I can't find them. For example:

- 'early 80's as Artist in Residence via grants from the Victorian Ministry for the Arts and the Australia Council for the Arts' - 'designing and implementing innovative community arts projects throughout Victoria along with residencies at the Australian Performing Arts Museum' - work as an ambulance driver/medic during the Hun Sen coup but no reference to any medical training or grants to acquire the ambulance. I can't imagine this was a solo effort so who accompanied him, and where did the ambulance come from? Peacocking?

- Article states 'Minko established the National Paralympic Committee of Cambodia in 1997 Chaired by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen along with developing Cambodian Disability Sports in a number of sports disciplines' but this is unlikely as the Cambodian National Paralympic Committee is a government department.

There seems to be significant COI, and the article needs editing towards a more neutral point of view. I'll try to make a start but hope other editors contribute Dentbottle (talk) 04:37, 14 May 2018 (UTC)

Edited CNVLD & KROM section for NPOV, inserted referenced material; removed irrelevant material & dead link; inserted new refs. Not sure if I've removed too much material but there's a lot of it that isn't referenced at all (probably due to COI). I'll review again in a few days but welcome other contributions/comments Dentbottle (talk) 08:00, 14 May 2018 (UTC)

Editing consensus

To reach some agreement on editing this article, I suggest that other editors outline the key points that they disagree with so we can discuss them here with a view to realising an improved NPOV/BLP article.

- My view is that this article is not a promotional piece. It isn't 'owned' by any one editor regardless of who started it.

- The article should be encyclopaedic in line with Wikipedia policies, have a neutral point of view, and edits should contain references (for example Phnom Penh Post or other published sources but not blogs or forums).

- Much of the article contains unreferenced edits which gives the impression that it's designed or commissioned for public relation purposes. Much of this material should be deleted?

- I have an issue with other editors deleting referenced material without explanation.

Comments very welcome.

Presumably, you're referring to the talk section below this. Prior to my deletion, the article claimed that 'The Cambodian National Team won a silver medal at the 2011 World Cup. It was the first time a Cambodian sports team had been placed in an international event.'

This is untrue and I provided an example in the section below. Thank you for your even earlier 1999 example (which pre-dates CNVLD's establishment).

Deleting 'It was the first time a Cambodian sports team had been placed in an international event'

I'm deleting this as it's patently untrue. For example, nine years earlier, Cambodia won 6 medals including 3 gold medals at the 2002 FESPIC Games

Establishing CNVLD dateline

Note on innacurate dates: Many sources I've checked seems to have different dates for the same event. For example, sources indicate the CNVLD was established in 2002 as well as other dates, and the women's wheelchair racing programme established in 2004 and 2005. Clean up

Started cleanup to comply with Wikipedia's content policies, particularly neutral point of view & BLP. Removed birth date. Some dubious refs still exist along with overly laudatory content

Family Background

Edited the Information the Minko Family/George Minko was an Ukrainian Jew.

This statement is false. The Minkos were (Greek) Catholic/ Eastern Christian by Religion for Centuries. By ethnicity we are Galician-German, Polish, Ukrainian.

George Minko was a Student at the "Deutsche Oberschule" in Zakopane under German Occupation, and G.Minko later even studied Forestry in Munich, Nazi Germany. The Minko Family were not only not Jewish but like many Galician-Germans and Galician-Ukrainians very supportive of the German cause in WW2 and the family fled to Germany with the retreating Wehrmacht.
