Possible NPOV Issues?
[edit]Can someone explain which NPOV issues? I will improve this quickly so deletion is not necessary, but I am not certain I am working on the right elements. Anyway, I object to deletion and I will add more independent sources to support the content. There are many references to the subject in reputable sources and I will add more of these. Meantime if anyone has a concrete objection please share it here. Andrew Hennigan (talk) 19:14, 10 October 2012 (UTC)
- Just realized that the NPOV tag has been removed so this is now moot. Andrew Hennigan (talk) 16:17, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
Contributions by the subject?
[edit]Hi. I am the subject of this page. I am honored to have a Wikipedia entry. What are the rules about whether/how I can contribute to the page? If I notice errors (e.g., my birthdate should be 11/19/1966), should I edit them directly, or should I let others know? What about additions? Thanks for creating this page! Christopher Chabris (talk) 01:35, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
- I have corrected the birth date. Thank you for this. Wikipedia rules discourage direct editing by subjects (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Autobiography) or affiliates of subjects. The best way to get things changed is to write things here and someone will make the change for you. Information should have sources that can be cited. This article needs a photo so if you could provide a photo with a Creative Commons license we can add that to the page; one simple way to do this is to post a suitable picture to a Flickr account then someone else can upload it to Wikipedia. Hi Andrew. Thanks for fixing the birthdate and for clarifying the policy. I will come here to suggest any further changes. Meanwhile here is a Flickr image of me that you can use: http://www.flickr.com/photos/poptech/8093825425/in/set-72157631762646972 Christopher Chabris (talk) 16:57, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the photo. I uploaded it to Wikimedia Commons and then inserted it into the page. Andrew Hennigan (talk) 17:45, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
Hi again, and thanks again to everyone involved in keeping up this page. A few biographical details have changed, so the info here is growing dated. Since I'm not supposed to edit myself, can I direct you to my page (www.chabris.com) and the info there, as well as in the linked "Biography" page, for updates? In particular, my present academic positions have changed, and also I have a regular Wall Street Journal column you might want to take note of. Thanks again!
- Thanks for the heads up. I edited the appointments (is that the right order?) and added a mention for the Wall St Journal column. Wikipedia doesn't seem to have a page for IAST Toulouse so I guess that needs to be added, too. Andrew Hennigan (talk) 17:19, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
