Christian Holocaust Article
[edit]Why isn't there an article on this unprecedented event? The mass murder(genocide) and ethnic cleansing (forced population exchanges)of Christian subjects under the Muslim Ottoman Turks and 'Young Turks' of Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians is certainly noteworthy! This seems political. This event preceded the Jewish Holocaust by up to 25 years. In the Ottoman Millet system, if you were not Muslim and/or Turkish you were literally a second class citizen (under Islamic Law). Today the Turkish Government still denies they committed genocide; which is the Final Act of a genocide (denial). The event involved three ethnicities (maybe more) of the Orthodox Religion. In a similar manner that Jewish people of numerous ethnicities (Polish, German, Russian, et al.) were genocided simply because they were all Jewish. This article MUST be created less we allow the memories of these innocent victims be forgotten. Three separate articles hardly offers appropriate attention to the FACT that the entire Christian Genocide was premeditated and orchestrated centrally against all the Christian minorities in Asia Minor. By the way, the word 'holocaust' is a Greek word for 'fiery death,' (to be totally consumed by fire) something appropriate to describe one of the final closing acts of the genocide: the burning of Smyrna in 1922. --Nikoz78 (talk) 16:01, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
